Who are we?

OUR COMPANY: Industrias ANJOSA S.A.

Origins

The story of Industrias ANJOSA S.A. is closely linked to the story of the Gracia brothers. In fact, part of the first generation remains connected to this same story.

The story of our company, our story, begins in Banastas, a small village in the province of Huesca located seven kilometres from the capital, at the foot of the Gratal mountains. This is where the Gracia brothers were born and from here they set off on their first adventure to Barcelona, with the intention of seeking their future.

It wasn’t long before they decided to embark on their second adventure.

In 1958, right in the city of Cornellá de Llobregat, they started their own umbrella factory.

After years of prosperity, floods in 1968 brought everything to an end, including the family’s dreams. They were forced to leave the city and return to the foothills of the Gratal mountains, from where they had departed years earlier. Fate led them to embark on their third adventure, building a factory in their village where none had existed before, proving that, without a doubt, courage is their hallmark. And so Industrias Anjosa was born.

Development

In 1972 Industrias ANJOSA S.A. began its business activity in Banastas, and it continues to this day.

Our company has grown and undergone important changes in every aspect.

It has expanded to more than 30,000 m2 of production and warehouse space.

In addition to in-house production, we have incorporated external production from various workshops, and providing social aid has become a hallmark of our company.

Currently our products are sold in countries all over the world through the large purchasing centres that dominate the current market.

We look to the future with the same motto that guided the founding of our company: to uphold the key elements that drive success—courage, design, and, with them, hard work, value, and quality.

Investments

Industrias Anjosa has consistently invested in continuous improvement by updating all production machinery and enhancing various sections of the company.

Although it is true that in recent years this investment has intensified, thanks to R&D innovations and advancements in technology adapted to the automation of production processes, it has led to the creation of new work systems that enhance traceability, improve production quality, and streamline final product management.

Committed to excellence and responsive to our customers, Industrias Anjosa also invests in implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems and Social Responsibility Systems based on international standards, reinforcing our dedication to providing the best service and upholding our commitment to our customers.

Innovation and Sustainability

In the textile sector, innovation in materials and production processes is not just essential for staying competitive in the global market but is also a crucial ethical and environmental responsibility. The European Union has been a pioneer on this front with the adoption of robust strategies to promote sustainable and circular textile products. This policy advocates a full product life cycle where materials are recycled and reused to minimise environmental impact, which is reflected in the adoption of the sustainable and circular products strategy launched in March 2022 (European Commission, 2022)11 European Commission. (2022, 30 March). EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles.

Advances in Sustainable Materials

Innovation in sustainable materials is radically transforming the textile sector.

Materials such as recycled polyester, regenerated nylon, and fibres derived from renewable resources are replacing more polluting traditional options. These materials not only offer greener alternatives, but also meet or exceed the performance characteristics of their non-sustainable predecessors. For example, global brands are increasingly incorporating fabrics made from recycled plastics sourced from the oceans, demonstrating a commitment not only to product sustainability but also to the health of our marine ecosystems.

These investments have intensified in recent years, driven by advancements in R&D and technology tailored to automate production processes. These innovations have enabled the creation of new systems that enhance traceability, production quality and the final management of our products.

THESE ARE THE FABRICS WE USE, BUT WE CAN WORK WITH WHATEVER YOU NEED

ACRYLIC:

Acrylic is a type of fibre that combines the durability of synthetic fabrics with the softness of cotton or natural fibres.

Its breathable construction ensures comfort by adapting to environmental conditions, staying cool in warm weather and providing warmth in cooler climates.

This fabric is exceptionally durable and resistant to wear and UV radiation. It retains its shape over time and does not shrink, making it ideal for long-term use. Additionally, its resistance to chemical agents allows it to be easily cleaned with mild soap and warm water or specialised upholstery products.

Acrylic fibres are highly resistant to light and weather, requiring minimal maintenance. Perfect for outdoor use, this fabric adds a touch of comfort and elegance to high-end outdoor furniture and is equally suited for indoor applications.

COTTON-POLYESTER (70%-30%):

Cotton, derived from the world’s most widely used soft fibre textile plant, is renowned for its silky texture and strength, which vary depending on the fibre’s length and thickness.

Fabrics made from cotton boast unique durability and excellent absorption properties. Their resistance to environmental factors ensures that garments retain their texture for extended periods. This blend includes stain-resistant and water-resistant treatments, enhancing its practicality.

Cotton fibres are used to create fabrics that are soft to the touch and gentle on the skin, reducing the risk of irritation.

While cotton is often associated with fine fabrics, its exceptional durability makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Additionally, this fabric is eco-friendly and 100% recycled.

OLEFIN:

Olefin is a lightweight, soft fabric made from synthetic materials like polyolefin, known for its ability to retain its original shape. This fabric is highly resistant to fading, stains and wear, while also being water-repellent. These properties ensure that products made with olefin offer exceptional resistance to rain, humidity and exposure to seawater or pool water.

Olefin is rot-proof and anti-corrosive, making it an excellent choice for outdoor use. Umbrellas and awnings crafted from this fabric remain unaltered despite weather changes.

While durable enough to withstand the rigours of outdoor use, olefin also exudes elegance, making it equally suitable for indoor settings.

It offers maximum UV protection for the skin and is a non-allergenic fabric. Moreover, olefin is environmentally friendly, as it is 100% recyclable and produced through sustainable processes.

TEXTILENE:

Textilene is an exceptionally strong and durable fabric, crafted from polyester threads coated with PVC. Its robust waterproof properties make it ideal for outdoor applications such as gardens, swimming pools, or beach settings. Its grid-like design enables water to filter through while its breathability prevents moisture build-up.

With high resistance to UV rays, Textilene avoids fading and ensures a long lifespan.

Its easy maintenance and lightweight construction make it extraordinarily suitable for the hospitality industry.
